Olympic Dam uranium mine at Roxby Downs South Australia, was previuosly owned by WMC, in 2005 BHP acquired the Olympic Dam mine along with a legacy of mis management, institutional racism, irresponsibility and neglect.
BHP is the worlds largest mining company, one of the worlds top five producers of uranium. BHP is the sole owner of the Olympic Dam mine and is in action to expand the Olympic Dam operation three fold.

Antamina, Peru (33.75% owned) — copper and zinc concentrates
Cannington, Australia (100% owned) — lead and zinc concentrates with high silver content
Cerro Colorado, Chile (100% owned) — copper cathodes
Escondida, Chile (57.5% owned) — copper concentrates and cathodes
Olympic Dam, Australia (100% owned) — copper cathodes, uranium oxide, gold and silver bullion.

BHP Billiton runs two hour public tours of the Olympic Dam surface operations every Monday, Thursday and Friday, leaving at 9am from the Roxby Downs town centre. Bookings are essential as tours book out quickly - contact the Roxby Downs Cultural and Leisure Precinct on (08) 8671 2001. Tours are run on a gold coin donation basis with proceeds going to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
